The mantra of the “green” folk (those who are focused on a sustainable world) is “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”. I’ve seen and heard these three words for more than 20 years. Actually, it’s not rain that you need to be saving for. It’s the tire punctured by a nail in the road construction you drive through every day. Or the emergency trip to the vet for your pet. Taxes are not a Savings Account

Every year, around tax time, I hear and have conversations where folks are looking forward to a big fat refund check. They are so happy to be getting a chunk of money back from the government. What I want to know is why they gave the government an interest-free loan in the first place. Especially when they probably needed the money themselves.
