Why Currency?
Most people think of money as a thing. To them, it’s the bills and change in their pockets.
In truth, money is a representation of value. A dollar is a measurement of value like a mile is a measurement of distance. A dollar of value is represented by a dollar bill or four quarters or ten dimes or…you get the picture.
So if money isn’t actually a “thing”, what is it? Money—the value that it represents—is more like an ocean current or the flow of electricity. Like water and electrical currents, money is constantly moving, changing. Cash flows into and out of your hands, your bank accounts, your retirement accounts, your life.
Like a farmer who needs to move water to his crops, you need to manage the flow of money in your life. Create channels in which money can flow and holding areas to store it until you need it.
So that’s my philosophy when it comes to money: it flows and it can be managed quite easily, if you have the right tools. I hope that the postings in this blog will help you find the tools and improve your own outlook on money.
